CEL light after exhaust replacement

Hi Simon,

C.J. Suggested you could sort this Satuday for me. Am having a full 3" decat done by H&S Saturday morning. Any chance you could sort out the CEL after this? (if it even comes on!)

Simon doesn't map at weekends plus if you want him to do anything to the ecu you will have to buy a licence for the ecutek software used, £250 IIRC..

dont need ecutek to turn them off and he intends to get it mapped

I don;t do weekends, I work silly hours in the week, weekends is kids time

Just spoken to Ian at H&S. He said he hasn't fitted a CEL fix thingy before, but will have a look tomorrow.

Simon RE: "do you want it mapped or just so the cel won't come on?" was hoping for a quick fix on the CEL, or a remap, whatever you could manage tomorrow. Will contact you next week for one or the other, as I can understand kids and weekends, as I have the same

Do I need to remap after de-cat? Will have to skip tunnel run Saturday night, if remap is needed

Really confused now. Some say YES remap or turbo damage
Others say they have been running 15k miles after decat without issue

When I got my de-cat done, I took it easy-ish and the CEL didn't come on. I then gave the car a good ******* and the light came on. It went out after the re-map though. Didn't do any damage

JGM phoned me earlier and said that I needed to have it mapped as it's an STi, and I should take it very easy until he can map it.
Suggested I shouldn't do the tunnel run, as it's guaranteed that I will give it the beanz and cause some sorta damage!..

Mine is an MY04 STi PPP. Don't even know what the CEL light looks like (assuming it's the engine management light)

Sounds fecking awesome. Had a bit of a run with a 22b on the way up to the tunnel run. CEL came on as we hit 140mph, (on a private airstrip we were crossing). After starting and stopping the car a few times, CEL went off. Spent the night giving it the beanz through all the tunnels, flames and pops/bangs galore.

Car seems to sound faster, spool up quicker, and wants to rev much more. Can't wait to get it mapped!
