General Rules:

• While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, racial discrimination (including jokes), personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
  
• Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such in forums other than The Pub.
  
• Bad language, swearing and abuse of the swear filter by substitution of different letters is not allowed.
  
• Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
  
• We also do not allow posts that violate the Surrey Scoobies community standards, although the majority of our members are over 18 we request that you think before you post anything that you may feel is unsuitable. The Surrey Scoobies Admin & Moderating team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
  
• Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
  
• Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed, and this is closely monitored by the Surrey Scoobies Admin team.
  
• We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
  
• Please post in English, and avoid posting in text speak.
  
• Do not post quoting other suppliers in our Trade Advertisers forum(s), the traders we have on the site take the time to come on here and offer our members (you) a discount if you know of another supplier who may be able to offer similar services then ask them to register with us.

These rules cover most situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure that the site is not disrupted or abused in any way.

We reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules, although where possible we will issue a warning to a user if deemed appropriate.

Advertising Services:

We only allow threads that advertise or solicit any products or services in the relevant forum for that Trader. If you would like to become an Authorised Trader then you will need to contact us via email to traders@surreyscoobies.co.uk . We will then contact you and validate you and create you a forum to advertise your services in as we want to ensure that Surrey Scoobies Members get the best level of service from our authorised traders.

For sale section:
You must have a minimum of 20 posts to offer anything for sale. Paid subscribers are exempt from this rule as we hold their details on file.
Threads posted with less than 20 posts will be deleted. If you are known on other forums and wish to post, you must gain the permission of a member of site staff.


Signatures and Avatars

Links in Sigs:

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:

Linking to a commercial products/service is not allowed if you wish to link to a commercial website then this should be entered into your Home Page in your profile. You may also not advertise a company by name within your signature.

Signature Size Limits:

These are controlled by option on the site, if your signature does not meet with the size guidelines for the User Group which you are a member of then you will be informed when you try and apply the changes.

Selected User Groups can also have a single image for use in a signature.

Avatars:

Animated avatars are allowed as long as these meet the image size guidelines for your User Group.

Warnings and Automatic Bans:

On Surrey Scoobies we run a warning system, breach of the forum rules may lead to a warning being issued to a member. Each warning will be allocated a number of points and also a validity period for the points. Once a member reaches a pre defined number of points the site will automatically ban the user until such time that they are below the pre defined number of points.
